We would like to provide you with an update on the COVID-19 situation at Umina Park.

Unfortunately, the site remains in lockdown as it is considered high risk due to the COVID-19 cases and exposure. We continue to work with the Tasmanian Aged Care Emergency Operations Centre (ACEOC) and the Department of Health on a daily basis.

Visitor Restrictions

The risk of transmission of COVID-19 has necessitated visitor restrictions and remains limited to those:

  • Providing end of life support for a resident at the facility.
  • Providing support to a resident who is suffering from dementia or similar condition and the person is required to assist in reducing distress or confusion in the resident.

Residents’ Safety

We will continue to monitor residents for symptoms and implement any measures necessary to limit exposure to COVID-19. All staff will continue to wear full PPE and only essential maintenance contractors will be allowed on site.

Care Packages

Family members are still able to deliver care packages for family members by leaving any items at the front door in a clearly labelled bag.

We will maintain regular contact with our residents’ families to update you about your loved one’s health.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the team.
