We would like to provide you with an update on our management plan for Bishop Davies Court, which was placed into a partial lockdown this morning, following confirmation that a staff member had tested positive for COVID-19 via a rapid antigen test.

OneCare is working closely with the Tasmania’s Aged Care Emergency Operations Centre regarding this matter. All staff are wearing additional PPE and the site has been thoroughly deep cleaned.

As a precaution, rapid antigen testing of all residents will take place today, and again on Friday 28th January 2022. This will be followed by PCR testing on Sunday 30th January 2022.

Visitors are welcome, however restricted to:

  • One visitor, per resident, per day between the hours of 1pm and 4pm;
  • Those providing end of life support for a resident at the facility; or
  • Providing support to a resident who is suffering from dementia or similar condition and the person is required by the operator of the facility to assist in reducing distress or confusion in the resident.

All visitors will be provided with, and must wear, a P2 mask at all times during their visit.

Importantly, it is now a requirement for all visitors to undertake a rapid antigen test, and receive a negative result, to ensure the safety of our OneCare community. A test will be provided to you upon arrival to the facility. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with this new precautionary measure.

We understand temporary lockdowns can be distressing for both residents and their families. We assure you we are doing everything in our power to make these as temporary as possible and implemented for the sole purpose of maintaining the safety of our OneCare community.

We will maintain regular contact with our residents’ families to update you about your loved one’s health.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the team.
