We would like to provide you with an update regarding the current COVID-19 situation at Bishop Davies Court, which was placed into a temporary lockdown over the weekend.

We have since received confirmation that the total number of positive residents has risen to ten. Despite this increase, all residents have mild symptoms and those who were first diagnosed have since recovered.

I want to assure our residents and their families that we are taking this matter seriously and are doing everything we possibly can to eliminate any further risk.

Consequently, we will be conducting PCR testing for all residents tomorrow, Wednesday 6 April and again on Sunday 10 April.

This testing requirement is on top of other measures already in place to protect our Bishop Davies community, including:

  • All staff wearing full PPE (Gowns, P2/N95 masks, face shields or googles) where required.
  • Additional staff rostered on to assist.
  • The facility deep cleaned regularly.
  • All meals served to residents’ rooms.
  • All group activities suspended.
  • All residents monitored for symptoms.

We understand temporary lockdowns can be distressing for both residents and their families. We assure you we are doing everything in our power to make these as temporary as possible and implemented for the sole purpose of maintaining the safety of our OneCare community.

As always, we will maintain regular contact with our residents’ families and provide any further information as it becomes available.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the team.
