As many of you would be aware, a new Public Health Directive for Residential Aged Care Facilities (No.17) has been released and will come into effect on Wednesday 15 December 2021.
Our focus continues to be on providing quality care and support to our residents at all times.
The OneCare team has worked hard at reducing the risk of COVID-19 through vaccination, education and embracing the changes required in day-to-day activities such as check in codes, masks, social distancing and sanitiser. As a society, we now know so much more about COVID-19 and how to manage it well. All of these steps have given us the best chance of moving forward as we learn to live with COVID-19 in our community.
OneCare Limited will continue to work closely with wider healthcare services such as our hospitals and the Department of Health and will, if necessary, enact our COVID-19 Management Plan that is well established and forms part of our fast response strategy.
From Wednesday 15th December, you will see some changes at all OneCare facilities in line with the new Public Health Directive:
• All staff and visitors will be required to wear a mask. This includes children when practicable.
• All visitors must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination (both doses) or a negative COVID-19 test result within 72-hours before entering the facility.
• Screening for symptoms (such as a temperature of 37.5° and higher or a cough) will continue.
• Access will be restricted to one entrance only.
If you are visiting our sites, please be patient while we introduce the additional safety measures. We are well prepared to manage COVID-19 and together we will continue to provide quality care and support to everyone in the OneCare community.
OneCare is committed to ensuring you are always kept informed on any further developments as they arrive.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the team.
