The final stage of our new development was completed in April 2019, created to support and engage with the local Port Sorell township and surrounding areas.

Relax in our new indoor, outdoor and communal spaces and spend time in the extensive gardens that are passionately looked after by our staff, volunteers and residents.

Become part of a caring and supportive community

Our new community centre and tea house is open and accessible to everyone. Rubi’s Tea House is well known in the local area for serving the best coffee, having delicious food and being the ideal place to enjoy a conversation.

Rubicon Grove’s thriving community precinct includes the Port Sorell Medical Centre, nearby Child Care Centre and Shopping Plaza. A gentle stroll down the road and you will find a bakery, supermarket, post office and pharmacy.

Activities and social opportunities

Our Leisure & Lifestyle Team works tirelessly to provide a range of social opportunities for residents. From frequent outings and excursions to games and singalongs, there’s always something happening.

Rubicon is lucky to be supported by a large community of amazing volunteers and fundraising helpers.

In October 2019, the generous donations of our local community allowed us to purchase a three-wheeled trishaw. Now residents will often take a ride to feel the wind in their hair!

Residential Care

From high to low care beds, rooms for couples and singles, our light bright and comfortable rooms will suit everyone. At our range of facilities around the state, we recognise the importance of having access to a range of health and wellbeing services. We also ensure there are plenty of private and public spaces, loads of amenities and enough interest in the form of social events and activities to keep our residents engaged and active.

Independent Living

Independent Living offers you the freedom and convenience of well-appointed accommodation, with the connection and sense of belonging that comes with being part of a caring community. Our high quality, self-contained units have been designed with the needs of our residents in mind.

Respite Care

Caring for someone who is older or frail is both a loving and demanding commitment. OneCare offers a choice of respite care that enables you to refresh, so that you can continue the essential job of looking after the those who are important to you. Respite is offered on a planned or emergency basis in a safe and supported environment.

Residents can choose to pay by a refundable deposit (RAD), a daily payment (DAP), or a combination of both.

Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD)

If you want to pay in a lump sum, you can choose this option. The amount is Government Guaranteed, which means it is fully refundable. If you have access to the full amount as a one-off payment, you can save on interest costs.

Or you can pay in a combination of both RAD and the daily payment.

Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP)

The DAP is a great option if you don’t have access to a the full amount up front. This amount is calculated based on the cost times the current government interest rate and divided by the number of days in the year.

The base cost is refundable but the interest you pay is not.
