A seat at the table: OneCare CEO to represent aged-care sector on prestigious Tasmanian health advisory group
OneCare CEO Peter Williams has been appointed to a peak body to advise the Tasmanian Government on the health system.
The inaugural Tasmanian Health Senate, a State Government initiative, will provide independent, evidence-based clinical leadership and advice on system-wide planning and delivery of health services to the Tasmanian community.
Mr Williams said he was honoured to be given such a wonderful opportunity to lead and collaborate with the Tasmanian healthcare industry.
“This is a great opportunity to be a voice for the aged-care sector at future system-wide healthcare planning and delivery discussions,” he said.
The health senate will bring together clinicians, carers, consumers, and the community, to debate state-wide and system-wide health matters, informing quality healthcare planning and delivery for Tasmanians.
“I am delighted to be given this opportunity to provide leadership and independent advice to the Secretary and Department of Health, and would like to thank the Tasmanian Government and Department of Health, for this opportunity to speak on behalf of the aged-care sector,” he said.
Mr Williams will be a member of the Tasmanian Health Senate for up to 3 years and takes up his position later in the year.
