Dear Residents, Consumers, Families and Friends,

As Tasmania’s borders begin to open to safe states this week, our community is experiencing some understandable nervousness surrounding this shift to the status quo. We want to reassure you that we have been working diligently behind the scenes since the very beginning of the COVID pandemic, constantly refining our response strategies and processes. It has been our utmost priority to ensure that we have robust standards that meet, and then exceed, the government requirements for COVID preparedness.

Now we are establishing this series of regular “COVID Talk” posts, answering some of your questions and giving you an insight into our comprehensive preparation and safety strategies. Each edition will focus on a different aspect of the way we are responding to COVID, from the challenges of modified access, to hand hygiene, social distancing and much more. Over the next few months, you will be able to find these updates here on our website and on our Facebook pages. I look forward to sharing with you some of the incredible work done by OneCare employees to ensure that we are continuing to deliver warm, exceptional and person centered care during this time.

Last week, we received the latest Health Directive for aged care facilities, released by Mark Vietch, Director of Public Health. This document can be accessed here. While our existing standards already align with those in this report, OneCare will be ensuring that we strictly adhere to the directives outlined.

Check back with us next week, where we will be exploring how we are implementing hand hygiene procedures into our facilities!

Regards,

Peter Williams
OneCare CEO
