Dear Residents and Families,
We would like to provide the following update regarding COVID-19 at Umina Park. We now have two (2) residents who have tested positive for COVID-19 on Level 2 of the Westgrove Wing.
Therefore, as a precautionary measure, the Westgrove Wing has now been placed into lockdown.
As always, those visitors:
- Providing end of life support for a resident at the facility; or
- Providing support to a resident who is suffering from dementia or similar condition and the person is required by the operator of the facility to assist in reducing distress or confusion in the resident; may continue to visit at any time with approval of the Facility Manager.
Umina Park will continue to liaise with the Aged Care Emergency Operations Centre (ACEOC) and be guided by them on further restrictions and testing requirements.
We want to assure our residents and their families that we are doing everything possible to eliminate further risk. It is without doubt that COVID-19 is highly transmissible, however we are confident that we will get on top of this outbreak quickly.
Visiting hours remain the same for the remainder of the site that is not in lockdown. Visitors will be required to undertake a RAT on entry and wear PPE as directed by staff.
We will maintain regular contact with our residents and families to update them and provide further information as it becomes available.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the team.
